M&M ART Ltd. is proud to introduce another entry from the Special Operations Community -- Navy SEALS. As a part of its heritage program, the Naval Special Warfare Foundation (NSWF) has established an enterprise arrangement to produce a series of historical paintings that illustrate unique events surrounding the history of the U.S. Naval Commando. M&M Art Ltd. has been commissioned to execute an original painting and to offer prints of the painting to raise money for this very special museum.
Today?s Naval Commandos are U.S. Navy SEALs and their supporting Special Boat Units manned by Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen (SWCC). Other special warfare organizations rooted in the history of the U.S. Naval Commando include Naval Combat Demolition Units, Amphibious Scouts and Raiders, Underwater Demolition Teams, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Maritime Unit, Beach Jumper Units, and the unique Navy Helicopter Attack Light (HAL) Squadrons.
?Rock Portage,? is the first in a series of museum quality, limited-edition prints to be sold. Its focused subject serves as a tribute to the determined men of NSWF that have faced the daunting challenge of ?Hell Week,? which was first established at Fort Pierce, FL at the Naval Combat Demolition Unit training school, and continues today as a part of Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in San Diego, CA.
All who have completed UDT and SEAL training carry the memories, challenges, and pain of ?Hell Week? with them for a lifetime. Like their predecessors, every BUD/S trainee is pushed to the limit, deprived of sleep, battered by the elements, and faced with a series of seemingly impossible physical tasks.
During ?Rock Portage? BUD/S trainees challenge individual skills and teamwork as they struggle to successfully negotiate surf, rocks, pain, and darkness to get their inflatable boat safely ashore. This experience has been skillfully frozen in time by Ekatrina Nikiporenko, who has brilliantly captured the image of ?Rock Portage,? which remains one of the most challenging evolutions encountered during ?Hell Week.?
All paintings in the NSWF Foundation collection will be part of a limited edition series. Priority to acquire these museum quality prints will be initially reserved for members of the UDT-SEAL Association. Only 1,000 prints will be made available for personal or corporate acquisition. This includes 900 regular prints individually signed and numbered that will sell for $150.00 plus shipping and handling, and 50 Artist?s Proof and 50 Printer?s Proof prints that will be sold for $200.00 plus shipping and handling.
Purchase of each regular print automatically contributes $90.00 to the NSWF Foundation. Purchase of an Artist or Printer?s proof automatically contributes $100 to the NSWF Foundation.
